Born in 1955, Hans Eric Olson grew up in a small Midwestern town in Iowa. His artistic talents began to manifest at an early age due in large part, he believes, to the constant encouragement of his mother, and accomplished artist herself.

"Landscapes That Reflect the Peace, Solitude and Beauty of Iowa"

"The message of my painting is a simple one: feel peace. Let the combination of light, color, atmosphere, and the beautiful landscape wash over you and take you to a place where you can hear the sounds of birds around you, feel the warmth of the sun, and smell the freshly cut hay. I seek peace - in the word and within myself. Painting helps me to experience that, and I hope my work will have the same effect on you."

Hans Eric Olson grew up in Garner, Iowa and has lived, painted and exhibited work in Colorado, California and Hawaii. He currently resides in Iowa City, Iowa.
