Extra on Brooke

Byam was born and raised in Clinton. She grew up in a log cabin and loved listening to country music. At an early age you could find her singing along with Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline records. At 3 years old, she had her first stage appearance at a supper club called Woody's Rendevous. She sang 'I Just Called To Say I Love You.' From that moment on, she knew what she wanted to be. Byam discovered a passion not only for singing, but for song writing as well. At the age of 16, one of her songs made it into a 20th Century Fox movie, in which she had the opportunity to perform her song on the silver screen.

Through her music career she has performed for a U.S. vice president, was Miss Clinton County 2000, a Miss Iowa 2001 semi-finalist, performed one of her originals in a movie, was selected for American Idol, and opened for numerous national recording artists. Her journey eventually led her to Nashville. It was in Nashville that her talents really began to shine. She has had the opportunity to perform with Nashville's finest musicians.
